Tom Hanks' niece Carly Reeves has admitted she can be "a little expressive" after she was seen having a meltdown on Claim to Fame.
The 39-year-old insisted that she is not "spoiled or entitled or crazy" as she explained to her Instagram followers why she threw a tantrum on the popular ABC show.
Carly, who is related to Tom through his wife Rita Wilson, was among the contestants on the second season of the reality show in which participants compete to win $100,000 (£80,000).
The contestants are based in a home which features clues about their famous relatives and the person who hides their identity for the entire season wins the prize.
In the premiere, Carly became visibly upset when Tom was correctly identified as being her uncle, as she began screaming and crying.
Sharing a picture of her famous uncle playing Forrest Gump with herself edited in behind him, Carly said the show wasn't easy for her.
"So I had a meltdown. Say what you want. I'm not spoiled or entitled or crazy I can just be a little expressive and vocal shall we say.
"Deflecting from the moment you step in the house is not easy when everyone already suspects who you are," she wrote in the caption.
Carly said she became mad because "there are literally hundreds of references to his collection of movies."
On the show, there were plenty of clues to Tom's identity, including a park bench and a ping pong paddle which referenced the film Forrest Gump.
Carly continued: "My uncle is awesome and he has known and experienced my tantrums since I was a kid. He would actually imitate me have a meltdown as a kid!
"I know it's not a good look but I really wanted to play along with the rest of the cast . Hope I made you laugh at least! Until I make you…laugh again #justiceforcarly."
Claim to Fame fans were divided about Carly's reaction in the comments, with some claiming it was unnecessary.
"Yelling “I SHOULD HAVE HAD MORE CAMERA TIME” isn’t being expressive, it just makes you come off as a whiny brat. Funny how you’re also not related to Tom by blood," one viewer wrote.
Another said: "The whole tantrum was totally uncalled for, especially the part where you called another person dumb. Like what? Now people know who you are but not for great reasons."
However, others defended the actress.
"Nah queen you were so iconic in such a short time, I would've reacted the same way, the forrest gump clue was so unfair, you were great and hilarious and i wish you were on longer!!! SLAY CARLY #justiceforcarly," one fan wrote.
Another gushed: "I don’t think you understand, we LOVE you! cemented yourself as a reality icon, i need you back on my tv."
