Tom Hanks' niece Carly Reeves was seen having a meltdown after being eliminated from ABC's Claim to Fame when one of her co-stars correctly identified her celebrity relative.
Carly, 39, was among those on the second season of the reality TV show in which contestants - who are related to celebrities - compete to win $100,000 (around £80,000).
The contestants are based in a home which features clues about their famous relatives and the cast member who conceals their identity for the entire season wins the prize.
The premiere saw Carly correctly identified as being related to actor Tom, 66. They're said to be related through his wife Rita Wilson, 66, who is said to the sister of Carly's mother.
It's been reported that the clues to Tom's identity included a park bench and a ping pong paddle which referenced the film Forrest Gump (1994), in which he played the title role.
Carly was visibly upset when the award-winning actor was correctly identified as her relative, which meant that she was eliminated from the show during the first episode.
She was seen screaming and crying as she seemingly prepared to the leave, with her head saying: "His freakin' clues are so freakin' obvious. [...] There's literally no reference to benches on any other movie [except Forrest Gump]."
Carly was subsequently heard saying: "I didn't even get to do any challenges! [...] I don't deserve this. I should have more camera time. I should be here longer."
She has since spoken about her dramatic departure in an interview with USA Today, telling the outlet that she "went through all the emotions" and had initially been "shocked".
Carly - who has appeared alongside her uncle Tom in films like Larry Crowne (2011) - continued by saying that she was then sad and that she subsequently became "really angry".
She explained: "I was really angry because I thought that my clues were just super easy. [...] They could have used a million different clues from all of his different movies".
Sharing her thoughts, the former contestant said that they decided to use Tom's "biggest movie" for the clues and added that they made several clues just about that film.
She continued by saying that she had felt as though she "didn't get a good shot at it" but said that she knows "it's just a game" and that people had correct guesses about her.
Asked if she regrets her reaction, she told the outlet that she didn't, adding that she's an "emotional person" and saying that she was "upset" as it had been an exciting opportunity.
Carly further commented that she could have handled herself "better" and "a little bit more graceful" but said that her upset and sadness was real so she can't regret that.
