Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are the latest celebrities to fall victims to thieves after a gang targeted their Los Angeles home in broad daylight.
Law enforcement officials told TMZ that the actors’ cliffside home was broken into a few weeks ago with robbers smashing through glass to get inside a guest house on their property.
Hanks, 68, and Wilson, 67, were not at home and out of town when the security alarm was triggered by the broken glass.
It has not been revealed what, if anything, was taken or if there was any other damage. They were unable to gain access to the main house.
According to the US news outlet, the case remains under police investigation and there have so far been no arrests.
The couple are at least the fourth celebrities to be hit in the last month after Bhad Bhabie, Sarah Hyland, and Marlon Wayans.
Hanks and Wilson - who have been married for 36 years - purchased their impressive 14,513sq ft home in January 2010.
The four-bedroom, five-bathroom cliffside mansion is covered in limestone, boasts three stories and includes a wine cellar, a cliffside swimming pool and deck area, and a tree-lined motor court, according to Architectural Digest.
The Standard has contacted a representative for Tom Hanks for comment.
Two-time Oscar winner Hanks’ next movie is the Robert Zemeckis directed drama titled Here.
Adapted from Richard McGuire's graphic novel of the same name, it is due for release in the UK on November 15.
