They celebrated ten years of marriage back in May and are proud parents to three boys.
But Tom Fletcher has revealed he split from Giovanna back when they first started dating - and it took him years of grovelling to persuade her to give him a second chance.
The McFly star, 37, met Giovanna, also 37, back when they were teenagers, both attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School.
Tom says he wasted no time in trying to establish a romance with Giovanna asking her out on the day they first met.
"She said yes but I dumped her two days later," he said.
"Then I spent years grovelling, trying to get her to go back out with me – which thankfully worked! We’ve been together for 19 years this year." he added to OK! Magazine.
After their brief blip at the start of their romance, the couple's relationship went from strength to strength.
They tied the knot in 2012, with Tom using lyrics from McFly's songs in his wedding speech.
Tom and Giovanna went on to welcome three boys; Buzz, eight, Buddy, six, and Max, four.
Of being a dad, the All About You hitmaker said: "I’ve realised you can do a lot on very little sleep, I can honestly say that nothing prepares you for being a parent, no matter how prepared you think you are. But it’s the best, it’s amazing, and I love it."
It comes after the singer confessed he hasn't 'really figured out' who he is as he takes a step back from the limelight.
Tom made a decision to 'slow down' on social media around a year ago and has been putting all his focus on his work projects and his family.
He opened up about the 'stress' of social media as well as discovering the things he wants 'to do' in a new chat.
"About a year or so ago I just decided to slow down a bit on social media," he explained.
"I realised I was doing stuff that I didn’t need to do and it takes up so much time and stress... I just don’t have the time or energy to do it now."
Speaking on The Netmums Podcast, he admitted the 'beauty' of his career means he 'doesn't really know' what he is.
"I love being an author, I love being a musician and obviously I love being a dad," he said.
"There are so many other things I want to do. I feel like I’ve not really figured out who I am or what I want to do with my life? I don’t have a clue what I am or who I am?"
