Tom Felton grew up playing the role of Draco Malfoy, having bagged one of the biggest parts in the Harry Potter films.
The Surrey-born actor was aged just 12 when he was cast as Harry's wizarding rival at Hogwarts in the screen adaptation of J. K. Rowling’s bestselling books.
But the last of the eight-film franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, came out in 2011, with Felton keeping busy over the past decade since.
From filming war epics to making his West End debut, Felton, who turned 35 on Thursday (September 22), has only continued to add to his acting CV.
What has Tom Felton been in since Harry Potter?
One of Tom Felton’s first non-Potter roles was in 2012 when he appeared in the supernatural horror film The Apparition.
A year later, he portrayed James Ashford, an arrogant member of nobility, in Belle. Also in 2013, he starred opposite Elizabeth Olsen as Camille Raquin in Thérèse (2013).
Felton held supporting roles in films Risen (2016), a box office success, as well as Message from the King, and A United Kingdom.
He has also tried his hand at voice acting, lending his distinctive English accent to Sheep and Wolves, a 2016 fantasy-comedy caper.
It is not only the big screen that Felton has delved into, having been cast in the science fiction series Origin, which also featured Harry Potter co-star Natalia Tena (who played Nymphadora Tonks in the films).
Admitting that he finds the subject of World War II fascinating, he has gone on to star in at least two epics about the six-year conflict.
He played a British soldier in the Dutch film The Forgotten Battle, which aired on Netflix, and also starred in 2020 thriller Burial, about the final days of the war in 1945.
Stage debut
In May 2022, Felton made his West End debut in London, featuring in the play 2:22 A Ghost Story.
In a touching reunion, Felton shared a picture on his Instagram account of when fellow Potter actor Jason Isaacs — who played his father, Lucius Malfoy, in the films — came to watch him tread the boards.
Posting a picture of them outside the Criterion Theatre, where he was performing, Felton said: “My father heard about this play I was in, 2:22 A Ghost Story.”
Isaacs, 59, said he was “thrilled to see my boy commanding the stage” in a sign that the Potter relationships have lasted long after the film series wrapped-up 11 years ago.
Who has Tom Felton dated?
Tom Felton was in a relationship with Jade Olivia Gordon for eight years, from 2008 to 2016.
Jade is a British stunt assistant. She also played Astoria Greengrass — the wife of Tom’s character Draco— in the movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, appearing in the epilogue scene when the characters are older.
It is reported that the couple broke up in early January 2016.
Felton dashed rumours in 2020 that he was dating former co-star Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, when he joined the Raya dating app, which is popular among celebrities.
The rumour mill had gone into overdrive after the pair shared snaps of themselves holidaying together in South Africa.
But, according to a source quoted by The Sun, Tom was instead on a quest to find his perfect partner through online dating.
A source told the newspaper two years ago: "Tom’s a great-looking guy with a good personality. But he’s struggled to find someone to connect with."
He is reportedly still single.
