Tom Brady's Las Vegas Raiders 'interest' as NFL megastar faces free agency dilemma

Tom Brady is set to become a free agent at the end of the year, and it seems he's already hinted at a potential landing spot if he leaves the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 45-year-old quarterback seemingly has no desire to retire - as he did in March before dramatically reversing his decision - and is set to play on into his 23rd season.

Brady has been linked with an emotional return to the New England Patriots next season, with reports suggesting a reunion with Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft could be on the cards. However, the Las Vegas Raiders are also in play, and could end up being his most likely destination.

According to The Athletic, Brady was interested in joining the Raiders back in 2020 when he first became a free agent after leaving the Patriots.

The quarterback was eager for a new challenge after deciding to leave Gillette Stadium, and reportedly had one eye on a move to the Raiders. UFC president Dana White later explained that he had played a role in getting Brady and Rob Gronkowski to Vegas, only for the move to fall through at the last minute.

He said: "I worked to put that deal together. It was almost a done deal. And at the last minute, [head coach Jon] Gruden blew the deal up and said that he didn't want 'em. And all hell broke loose, man. It was crazy.

"And Brady was already looking at houses, and it wasn't being said yet that Gronk was coming. So Las Vegas would've had Brady and Gronk the year that the Bucs won the Super Bowl, except Gruden blew the deal up."

This year, however, Brady could have more of a reason to move to the Raiders - a reunion with Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels. The two worked together while McDaniels was offensive coordinator at the Patriots.

The Raiders recently benched Derek Carr, with the quarterback set to miss the remainder of the season. The move will likely lead to an opening at the quarterback position next season, leaving Brady with a huge decision to make when it comes to choosing his next team.
