Tom Brady Gives Fascinating Answer When Asked About Unretiring to Play for Patriots Rival

Tom Brady is entering his first NFL season since 2000 as a spectator—an odd reality for fans and the 45-year-old after he officially retired from the league in February. Naturally, fans constantly float the idea that the seven-time Super Bowl champ could unretire yet again, but it doesn’t seem likely.

However, Brady gave an interesting answer when asked if there was any chance he’d come out of retirement and play for the Dolphins

“Oh man,” he said while at an event in Miami on Thursday. “I will say, now that I’m not affiliated with any team anymore and even though I have strong ties with a couple teams, I do have some friends on the Dolphins that I really like. I wouldn’t necessarily say [I] root for them all the time, but I root for my friends to do well and several of them play for Miami.”

Brady, who now lives in South Florida, appeared to completely dodge the question, adding to the speculation that he could entertain coming out of retirement yet again. Brady has been connected to the Dolphins in the past, but the franchise was punished by the league last offseason for tampering with him.

It’s unlikely it’ll happen, but this won’t stop Miami fans from reading into the small glimmer of hope.
