Prospective owner Todd Boehly has told Chelsea to begin their transfer plans as soon as his prospective takeover is complete, if recent reports are to be believed. It comes ahead of a potentially huge summer for Thomas Tuchel, who could look to revamp his playing squad.
The end of the takeover saga would be a relief to supporters, as the club nears its third month of uncertainty. The light at the end of the tunnel appears to be in sight though, as the Boehly-Clearlake bid was named preferred bidder and is waiting on government approval before it can go through.
This will lift restrictions placed by the sporting licence they currently operate under, allowing for focus to turn swiftly onto plans for the summer. Discussing transfer ideas, Tuchel said: “We have clear ideas how to improve, how to freshen the squad, improve the squad, bring new energy and quality.
