Todd Boehly 'schedules' Joao Felix transfer meeting as Chelsea eye permanent summer transfer

Chelsea face a huge dilemma over the summer when it comes to the potential permanent signing of loan striker Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid. The Portuguese international joined on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season back in January, though there was no clause over signing after it was completed.

It leaves the Blues in a position where they would have to renegotiate terms with Atletico Madrid to see the 23-year-old return to Stamford Bridge. Felix has impressed so far since joining the club, showing plenty of quality when in possession, even if he doesn't find the net all too regularly.

"We are really happy with him," manager Graham Potter said earlier this month when asked about the forward. "His approach, his ideas are excellent. His quality makes things happen. The fact that Joao can play in a few different positions is good."

With the impending arrival of Christopher Nkunku in the summer along with an already large squad and transfer spend, it remains to be seen if Felix rejoining is a possibility. However, according to Relevo, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is a huge fan of the striker and wants to see if a move is available.

The report adds that Chelsea have scheduled talks with Atletico for April over initial contact for a switch, with a decision to be made in May. With tensions high amongst the player and Rojiblancos manager Diego Simeone, it added that a deal is seemingly likely as the days pass.

Though it remains to be seen under which terms Atleti would allow for a transfer, given the large fee they paid for the youngster from Benfica.
