Chelsea are set to appoint former Manchester City executive Tom Glick, according to Sky News reporter Mark Kleinman. It comes following a number of changes in the wake of a takeover at the west London club.
American businessman and LA Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly won the race to own the Blues in late May after Roman Abramovich sold the club following 19 years in charge. Boehly’s consortium included majority shareholder Clearlake Capital, winning the bidding process at the cost of £4.25billion.
A statement from Boehly on the takeover said: “We are honoured to become the new custodians of Chelsea Football Club. We’re all in – 100% - every minute of every match.

"Our vision as owners is clear: we want to make the fans proud. Along with our commitment to developing the youth squad and acquiring the best talent, our plan of action is to invest in the Club for the long term and build on Chelsea’s remarkable history of success. I personally want to thank ministers and officials in the British government, and the Premier League, for all their work in making this happen."
A number of changes are set to come on the field, with some key players leaving Thomas Tuchel ’s squad. The German coach is believed to have over £200million to use in the current transfer market to find suitable replacements, although they are yet to make their first signing.
Elsewhere, the new Boehly era has already begun behind the scenes. Sporting director Marina Granovskaia will leave the club at the end of the summer transfer window, while chairman Bruce Buck has already stepped own from his role, with former goalkeeper Petr Cech having left the post of technical and performance advisor on Thursday.
CEO Guy Laurence also stepped down, with his role being the day-to-day running of the football club. And following a search, it appears as though his replacement is Tom Glick, as per Sky News.
Glick was a former top executive at Manchester City’s parent company, and is expected to take care of the day-to-day procedures. It signals another change for the Blues, though plenty more are set to follow.
