Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Chelsea to replace Kai Havertz with Harry Kane or Erling Haaland. The Blues striker has struggled to impress in recent times, netting just twice since the return of the Premier League.
Havertz, who sees his deal at Stamford Bridge expire in 2025, has featured 29 times for the west Londoners this season, directly contributing towards seven goals. His uninspired performances have left the former Aston Villa striker unimpressed, claiming that Graham Potter needs a traditional talisman.
The 23-year-old has often led the line at Chelsea since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2020 despite courting the club's interest as a playmaker at Bayer Leverkusen. Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: "[Chelsea are] missing a ruthless striker.

"Put Harry Kane in that team, put [Erling] Haaland in that team, imagine the chances they'd score. Havertz, for me, is lightweight. He’s a big lad, but gets bullied on the ball.
"He’s not an out-and-out number nine and is more a number 10. [But] they’ve got [Cristopher] Nkunku coming in the summer."
Chelsea were among several top-flight clubs who were interested in signing Haaland before he joined Manchester City, according to ESPN. The report states that the Blues had reservations about signing the Norwegian because scouts 'raised concerns' about whether his profile would be suited to the Premier League.
As for Kane, Chelsea have been told that they'd benefit most by signing the Tottenham captain. Speaking to Betfred, as quoted by The Express, Glen Johnson said: "I think pretty much any team would benefit from signing him.
"Who needs him most right now? Probably Chelsea. Making a move from Tottenham to Chelsea is a big call but I can't really see him ending up there if I’m being honest.
"Let’s face it, if he stays at Tottenham then he’s not winning anything and it would be a shame for a player of his ability to have a career where he doesn’t win anything.
"He’s a legend at Tottenham, so would he want to ruin his status by moving to another team in London? I’m not sure. It would probably be easier for him to move to a club outside of London."
