I knew I had enough clues to make some educated guesses at today's answer a few rows in, but I couldn't quite picture the word I needed to reach for. So, seeing as I had a little room to spare, I decided to throw out a feeler instead of working my way through my internal dictionary, just to see what did turn green and what didn't. That did the trick for me, and I solved the game on my next go.
