That was close—really close. The very last row of the board close, even. But today I didn't really mind it taking that long, thanks to the steady stream of hints my guesses revealed along the way. So yes, in theory it would have been better if I'd solved this puzzle in a couple of guesses. But I had fun picking this one apart, and I'd rather have fun than a quick win. Some days, anyway.
