Today FM star Jessica Maciel has revealed her delight after getting a boob job in Turkey.
The DJ, who also runs tattoo shop The Malahide Body Art Studio with her husband, said her chest size was always something she struggled with as a teenager, adding she could never "fill anything out" due to their size.
During the pandemic, Jessica had the chance to ponder over the idea of cosmetic surgery and after much thought, she decided she was going to get a breast augmentation.
After a lot of research, she found the perfect clinic in the city of Izmir, Turkey.
Jessica said that when she posted on social media about her decision, a lot of the younger generation were more open and supportive while a "few older people who were all like 'why would you do that to yourself' once they heard," she told Evoke.
So Jessica packed her bags and headed to Turkey last October with a friend for the surgery.
The time she spent abroad was "not absolutely a holiday", she stressed saying she only left the villa she was staying at one day during the entire week.
While having surgery away from home might be daunting, Jessica said she built a good relationship with her surgeon before she landed in Turkey.
The clinic she chose operated over WhatsApp and were active and quick in answering any questions she had.
She added: "The doctor went through everything so thoroughly, and even since surgery I can call him anytime about anything - even a few weeks ago when I was sick and they are back to me within 10 minutes."
But she said those hoping to jet off have to be realistic as you may end up needing another surgery if there's a problem . Jessica said "you're having surgery and there is always a risk".
It's been five months since the procedure and Jessica said she finally feels like she's back to herself.
She said that she was delighted she finally got to wear a body con glitter top that she had bought before the surgery during her trip to Paris.
Jessica said that people who are thinking of travelling for the surgery need to be absolutely certain about their decision.
She said: "[...] it is overwhelming when you arrive and it all happens so quick- I landed in the evening and was in surgery at 8.30 the next morning."
