It's been quite the eight months for teenage Socceroo Lucas Herrington, and the towering central defender hopes his stratospheric rise can help earn Australian players a seat back at football's top table.

In early January, Herrington - who turns 19 on Saturday - was lining up for Brisbane Roar in a 3-0 A-League defeat at the hands of Wellington.
