Tennessee Titans 2022 third-round pick and quarterback Malik Willis caught the attention of a lot of people around the football world during his debut on Thursday night, including Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Jackson was on the sideline while Willis flashed his skills in the preseason-opening loss to Baltimore. The Ravens quarterback was particularly impressed with Willis’ seven-yard touchdown run.
But his affinity for Willis’ game came before watching him at M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday night, as the Liberty quarterback originally caught Jackson’s eye with a great throw he made during the combine.
“I saw that throw that he made at the Combine, like a 65-yard bomb, and I told [Quarterbacks] Coach ‘Urb’ [James Urban], ‘He has an arm on him,'” Jackson said, via Ryan Mink of BaltimoreRavens.com.
“Then, I saw him in the game, he did that little spin roll to the left and went crazy. I was like, ‘I like him. I like him a lot.’ He’s a great quarterback, and he made some down-the-field throws, too. He’s going to be good in the league.”
Following the game, Willis and Jackson got a chance to meet on the field as the two teams bid farewell to one another.
