The Tennessee Titans offense has rightly received a lot of scrutiny throughout the 2023 season. This team has a serious talent deficiency in many areas, including in their group of pass-catchers.
Outside of DeAndre Hopkins, there isn’t a single player on the team who has eclipsed 250 receiving yards for the year.
One of the biggest issues with the group of receivers is the lack of separation they’re providing for the Titans’ quarterbacks.
After 11 weeks, only Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder has had a lower percentage than Titans quarterbacks Ryan Tannehill and Will Levis when it comes to throwing to open targets. They’ve also seen their pass-catchers struggle to get open.

This is a major problem because not everyone has the skillset of Hopkins, where they can go up and make a play over a defender regardless of how tight the coverage is.
That then leads to hesitancy by the Titans’ quarterbacks because they rightfully don’t trust the other weapons to make something happen.
The current stable of weapons out wide is simply making an already difficult job that much harder on Levis because he constantly has to fit the ball into tight spaces.
If the Titans are going to maximize the potential of their young quarterback, they have to make a valiant effort to surround him with receivers who can create separation.
