The Tennessee Titans elevated a pair of players from the practice squad for the Week 7 contest against the Indianapolis Colts, including cult hero and wide receiver, Mason Kinsey.
Kinsey, who has been a darling of a certain sect of Titans fans since being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2020, will be playing in the second contest of his career, assuming he’s active.
Kinsey gets the nod over Dez Fitzpatrick, who was elevated last week but did nothing, as well as new practice squad addition, C.J. Board, who was brought in earlier this week.
The Titans were already short-handed at wide receiver but could also be without rookie slot receiver Kyle Philips, who was a late addition to the injury report on Friday with a hamstring issue and is questionable.
Along with Kinsey, linebacker Joe Schobert is also getting the nod from the practice squad with the team missing starting linebacker Zach Cunningham for a third straight game.
Schobert has now been elevated three times, meaning the team now must sign him to the active roster after this week or else he’ll be cut loose. The veteran made a huge impact play in Week 4 against the Colts, forcing a fumble that helped sealed Tennessee’s victory.
