Tennessee Titans defensive lineman is one of many players trying to battle through injury to stay on the field. For Simmons, it’s an ankle issue that has hampered him for a few weeks now.
Simmons hasn’t practiced in each of the last two weeks, yet he has been able to take the field and play at a high level.
Unfortunately, Simmons appeared to aggravate the injury late in the Week 9 game against the Kansas City Chiefs in which he logged an astounding and career-high 81 snaps.
According to multiple reporters, Simmons was spotted with a walking boot on his ankle on Wednesday.
#Titans DT Jeffery Simmons just walked through the locker room with a walking boot on that left ankle that kept him out of practice the past two weeks. He went down late grabbing the ankle in loss in KC.

This leaves Simmons’ status very much up in the air for Week 10 against the Denver Broncos, but as we’ve seen the last two weeks, a lack of practice participation doesn’t mean he won’t go.
Simmons is easily the most important player on defense for the Titans, a team that can ill-afford to see a drop-off in performance on that side of the ball, which is likely to happen if Simmons doesn’t play.
