The Tennessee Titans will recognize one of their greats at their home opener Sunday against the New York Jets as running back Chris Johnson was named the ‘Legend of the Game’ for Week 2.
One of the fastest and most dynamic running backs of his era, Johnson was a star for the Titans. During his six seasons with the team, he rushed for 7,965 yards.
His best season came in 2009 when he was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year. During that incredible season, he rushed for 2,006 yards, 14 touchdowns, and an NFL single-season record of 2,509 yards from scrimmage—a record that still stands today.

Johnson retired in 2017 after 10 seasons in the league. Although he played four seasons (the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals) away from Tennessee before retiring, he will always be remembered for his time and record-setting career with the Titans.
