One of the Tennessee Titans’ free agents this offseason, linebacker Rashaan Evans, is set to visit with a division rival. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Evans will meet with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night.
A former first-round pick of the Titans in 2018, Evans had his fifth-year option declined last year, setting him up for free agency in 2022.
The expectation all along has been that Tennessee wouldn’t bring him back. The Alabama product flashed early on in his career, but was no doubt a disappointment the past two seasons.
Evans began the 2021 campaign as one of two starters at inside linebacker, but both he and Jayon Brown were surpassed on the depth chart by David Long and Zach Cunningham later in the season.
Jacksonville recently became in need of an inside linebacker after the release of Myles Jack, who went on to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Evans would have a good shot to grab a starting role with the Jags.
