TIRUPATI: Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple atop Tirumala on Sunday received the highest single day donation of Rs 6.18 crore. This is the highest single day donation received in the form of cash offerings at Tirumala temple since its inception. It is also the highest for any temple in the world.
Devotees of Lord Venkateswara, who were forced to stay away from the Tirumala temple due to Covid-19 restrictions for almost two years, are now queuing up in unprecedented numbers since April this year.
And as the summer vacations set-in, the temple is witnessing an unprecedented pilgrim footfall particularly during the weekends.
