A tiny kitten was saved from certain death after workers heard its cries from inside a cardboard box that was heading towards a crushing machine at a recycling centre near Newcastle.
Jason Henderson was working at the Remondis Recycling Centre in Bedlington when he thought he heard a cry. And after investigating the sound, he discovered a two-week-old kitten huddled in the bottom of a box.
He swiftly scooped up the box and put his hi-vis coat inside for warmth before he rushed the kitten to his aunt Nicola’s home. Jason knew Nicola was a cat lover and that she would know what to do in this situation.
