HS2 timeline: government confirms train will run to London Euston

Rishi Sunak has confirmed that the HS2 train line will continue into the city centre by connecting to London Euston and will not terminate at Old Oak Common – as had been mooted.

The prime minister also promised development around the Euston station area, having previously scrapped the high speed link’s extension beyond Birmingham Curzon Street to Manchester.
