Bill Belichick opened his New England Patriots farewell press conference on Thursday with a joke about one of his former quarterbacks, Tim Tebow.
“Haven’t seen this many cameras since we signed Tebow,” Belichick said.
The video of the quote circulated on social media, as it was quite the way to break the ice just hours after news broke that the Patriots would be parting ways with the legendary coach after 24 seasons.
Tebow responded to the video, and in turn sent his congratulations to Belichick.
“That’s about all I did lol,” Tebow tweeted. “Congrats on being one of the greatest ever Coach!”

Tebow was signed by the Patriots ahead of the 2013 season. However, he only played in two preseason games before being cut from the team. His tenure with New England lasted a little over two months.
Belichick departs New England having won six Super Bowls and nine AFC championships as head coach. He ranks third in NFL history in career regular-season wins with 302.
