The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has announced its senior staff for the upcoming 2026 cycle, aimed at supporting incoming Chairman Tim Scott, R-S.C., in expanding the GOP majority. The team includes veterans of President-elect Donald Trump, Scott himself, and former Vice President Mike Pence.
Leading the NRSC will be Tim Scott, with Jennifer DeCasper, his longtime chief of staff, appointed as the executive director. Stephen DeMaura, who managed Pence's 2024 presidential campaign, will serve as the deputy executive director.
Scott expressed his enthusiasm for the team, emphasizing the importance of defending the majority, going on offense, and advancing President Trump's agenda. Current NRSC Chairman Steve Daines praised DeCasper's strategic insight and commitment to conservative principles.
Other key appointments include Cara Mason as finance director, Nathan Brand as senior adviser, Brendan Jaspers as political director, and Joanna Rodriguez as communications director. Senator Pete Ricketts, R-Neb., will take on the role of vice chair for the 2026 cycle.
The NRSC highlighted the diverse political experience of its team members, aiming to maintain and grow the GOP Senate majority to align with Trump's agenda. The 2026 cycle is expected to feature competitive races, including those for the seats of Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., Thom Tillis, R-N.C., and Susan Collins, R-Maine.
Meanwhile, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., is vying for the role of Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee chairwoman, emphasizing her ability to connect with voters in purple areas.
