Oldham is getting a new Tim Hortons drive-thru, and the Canadian coffee and breakfast spot will be giving its first customer free drinks for a year. The company offered a similar prize when it opened its Trafford Park drive-thru, and saw people camping out the night before in order to snag the offer.
One man slept in his car overnight to win the same prize last year. It translates to about £3000 in free drinks for the year. They’ll also be giving away free breakfasts for the first 100 customers on opening day too.
Doors will open at 7am on April 17, with the drive-thru, on Manchester Road, then open from 6am until midnight, seven days a week. The restaurant will create 50 jobs in full and part-time roles.

Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons in the UK, said: “It brings me great pleasure to unveil the opening date for our new drive-thru restaurant in Oldham. Manchester has always welcomed us with open arms, and we continually receive requests for restaurants even closer to where guests live within the county.
“We look forward to bringing our infamous Canadian brand nearer to loyal customers, as well as offer those new to Tim Hortons, a chance to experience everything we have to offer. The team has dedicated a lot of time and effort in preparation for our launch, and we’re all looking forward to celebrating with the community when doors open on Monday 17th.
“There are a considerable number of prizes and giveaways up for grabs and we’d love to see as many guests as possible at our grand opening.”
Fans of the chain will be able to get all the usual fare, including its breakfast muffins, wraps, hot sandwiches and burger, and, of course, the famous ‘timbits’ doughnut pieces.
