Tickets to this year’s Champions League final and a lunch in Bordeaux were among a number of donations made to the Mayor of Liverpool in the last 18 months according to an official register.
A record of the 74 gifts and hospitality donated to members of Liverpool Council since April 2021 has been made public ahead of the local authority’s standards and ethics committee next week. Among the offers made to Mayor Joanne Anderson and city councillors range from an invitation to the British Kebab Awards dinner to a bottle of Bailey’s from a resident.
Since last April, the report said 50 offers of gifts and hospitality had been made to the Mayor, of which 35 were accepted. These included attendance at last year’s Champions League final in Paris as Liverpool took on Real Madrid, with tickets and flights donated by European football governing body UEFA.
