Pennsylvania's measles outbreak has passed 1,000 confirmed cases, the most of any state this year, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 1,004 cases across 39 counties on October 5, with 198 people hospitalized and five deaths since the outbreak began in late April.
The newest numbers show the outbreak spreading beyond its original center. Lancaster County, which still has the most cases at 391, reported no new cases between Friday and Monday, LancasterOnline reported. Meanwhile, Mifflin County has climbed to 118 cases, and Chester County, in the Philadelphia suburbs, has reached 84.
