LAST DATE is well treated for her bid to improve an impressive course record in the Inaugural LB Group Handicap (4.05) at Chelmsford City.
The Ivan Furtado-trained daughter of Music Master is a different horse when she visits the Essex Showground - all three of her career victories have come there. The most recent of the trio came almost a year to the day - on April 1 2021 - from a British Horseracing Authority rating of 61.
Last Date has been beaten in seven starts since, including two at Chelmsford City, but that losing run has seen my selection fall to a mark of 60. Furtado’s team has hit form with a vengeance - his last three runners have come home in front - and Sean Levey’s mount is capable of a big run at rewarding odds.
