Capcom is rounding out its survival horror lineup on Nintendo's newest console, the Switch 2, and this next wave completes something fans have been waiting years for.
With this latest batch of announcements, every mainline entry of the "Resident Evil" franchise will finally have a way to run on Switch 2.
'Resident Evil' Takeover on Switch 2 Is Coming
Capcom confirmed during a recent Nintendo Direct that three of its most acclaimed remakes are heading to Switch 2 this fall, arriving as complete editions loaded with extra content.
This was massive news to "Resident Evil" fans as the game releases bring native experiences to the Switch 2 and not just cloud-based ports.
Once these three titles land, every mainline "Resident Evil" game will be playable on Nintendo's current console, following a steady stream of releases that have already brought the series to the platform throughout the year.
Which 'Resident Evil' Games Are Launching?
- " Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition " - Release Date: October 16 | Follows rookie officer Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they get caught in a biological disaster tearing through Raccoon City. This edition includes the base game along with an added DLC pack featuring extra character costumes, a deluxe weapon, and a soundtrack swap option.
- " Resident Evil 3 " - Release Date: October 16 | Set in the ruins of Raccoon City following the same outbreak, this entry follows Jill Valentine, a survivor of the special forces unit S.T.A.R.S., through the beginning and end of the incident.
- " Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition " - Release Date: October 16 | Six years after Raccoon City, agent Leon Kennedy is sent to rescue the president's daughter from a remote European village. This edition bundles the Separate Ways DLC following Ada Wong, along with an extra content pack of additional outfits and weapons.
Switch 2's New 'RE' Games Get Discounts
All three titles will launch digitally through the Nintendo eShop on October 16, with an early adopter discount currently available for anyone who preorders ahead of release. Physical versions of all three games are set to follow later, arriving on January 29, 2027, though Capcom has not clarified whether that release will use full game data or a smaller game key card format.
The three remakes are being sold individually rather than as a discounted bundle, though each one carries its own preorder pricing in the meantime.
Latest 'Resident Evil' Titles on the Switch 2
These three remakes join a run of "Resident Evil" titles that have already found a home on Switch 2 this year. "Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Gold Edition" and "Resident Evil Village Gold Edition" both arrived on the console back in February, each including their respective expansions and additional content packs.
That same month brought "Resident Evil Requiem," the ninth mainline entry in the series, which launched simultaneously across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch 2.
"Requiem" has gone on to become the fastest-selling entry in franchise history, surpassing five million units within a week of release before climbing past seven million copies in the months since.
Built around dual protagonists Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy, the game blends survival horror pacing with more action-driven segments, and its early momentum has made it one of Capcom's biggest successes in the series to date.
