Three men arrested after body of man discovered on Scots street

Three men in their twenties have been arrested following the death of a man in a Scots town on Sunday evening.

Police are investigating after the man's body was found around 9.30pm in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. Emergency services, including the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, were called to the incident in the town's Ives Road, next to the coast.

Officers were carrying out enquiries at the scene on Monday morning, with three men arrested in connection with the incident. However, no cause of death has been released by Police Scotland.

Access to and from the street was being controlled by police following the incident. A blue tent and police tape was seen around the area.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “We were called at 9.31pm on Sunday, February 5, to assist with a police incident.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to an address in Ives Road, Peterhead, around 9pm on Sunday, 5 February, following a report of the death of a man.

“Three men, aged 21, 22 and 27, have been arrested in connection with the death and enquiries are ongoing.”
