Three Edinburgh eateries have been named in the Open Table top 50 places for lunch and brunch ahead of Mother’s Day this year.
Down the Hatch South Queensferry, Greenwoods city centre and Urban Angel city centre were all named in the list alongside several other restaurants across the UK.
The list is sorted in alphabetical order with no particular brunch/lunch spot touted ahead of the rest.
But the three venues were singled out for praise by the popular foodie site as the perfect location to treat your beloved mother on Mother’s Day weekend which runs from March 25-27 2022.
On their site, Open Table said: “With Mother’s Day fast approaching, we’re excited to share 50 of the UK’s best restaurants for brunch and Sunday lunch. This list is based on 1.2M reviews written by OpenTable diners in the past year.
“If you’re looking for the perfect place to spoil your Mum, this list has it all. From cosy gastropubs to seaside cafes, you’re sure to find somewhere special to celebrate with your family.”
Down the Hatch, which had eateries placed at Port Edgar Marina Queensferry Edinburgh, EH30 9SQ and 13 Antigua St, Edinburgh EH1 3NH, is well known throughout the capital for their unbelievable tasty meals that often incorporate local produce - it is comfort food not to be missed.
They describe themselves as: “North American influenced food, with quality locally sourced ingredients!”
Greenwoods is located at 61 Frederick St, Edinburgh EH2 1LH, and they are described as the first Amsterdam brunch experience to hit Scotland.
On Open Table, they say: “We pride ourselves on sourcing top quality local ingredients and make our products fresh on the premises as much as we can. And of course, we also brought our Dutch roots with us as well. You’ll find it on the menu and in the restaurant itself.”
Urban Angel, which is located at 121 Hanover St, Edinburgh EH2 1DJ, is a café ideally located in Edinburgh’s city centre.
On Open Table’s site, they say about their business: “Our café in central Edinburgh is open every day for brunch, lunch, coffee, cake & cosy evening drinks, sit in or takeaway!
