Thousands of people will have to buy a new environmentally friendly car by the middle of next year if they want to drive in Scotland’s biggest cities under controversial new laws.
The deadline for objections to Glasgow’s new Low Emission Zone (LEZ) expired last week, with the new regulations set to be introduced in May and fines of up to £480 enforced from June 2023.
Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen have all agreed a two-year “grace period” before enforcing fines in their zones from mid 2024.
