Look at two random cars parked next to each other and check out their tires. The tread likely looks completely different. One tire might have big, chunky blocks with deep grooves, while another has a relatively smooth surface covered in narrow channels and tiny cuts.
That's not just styling. Tire tread is one of the most heavily engineered parts of a car, and the pattern is designed around what the tire is expected to do. A performance tire, a winter tire, and an everyday all-season tire can all look radically different because they're solving very different problems.
