Thomas Tuchel has hinted at major Adrien Rabiot Chelsea transfer problem amid Juventus stance

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has already admitted that new target Adrien Rabiot is prone to a few bad spells per season as incoming transfer rumours start to heat up.

The Blues have numerous issues to sort out this summer including in defence, midfield and attack. It is already known that the former of the positions is to be given special treatment immediately, whilst the other two depend on outgoings. It is understood that if any Chelsea midfielders were to depart this summer, it would be Jorginho who is angling for a move back to Serie A and interested club Juventus will need to remove one of their own players to compensate for the arrival of the former Napoli man.

Therefore, it's no surprise to see Les Bleus international Rabiot be included on a Juve selling transfer list and the latest update from Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano could be significant for the Blues, who with Man United, are yet to make a signing so far in this summer's transfer window. He tweeted: "Adrien Rabiot has been included in Juventus transfer list, so there are chances for him to be sold - and he wants to leave the club this summer. Premier League clubs are already exploring this possibility."

Chelsea haven't been name-checked as of yet as one of these clubs but the relationship between Tuchel and Rabiot - which did have its high and lows whilst they were both at Paris Saint-Germain - means that he certainly is a viable option to the current World Champions, especially due to the 27-year-old's availability.

However, if Todd Boehly were to make any advancements on a potential Jorginho/Rabiot swap deal or straight cash deal, Tuchel has already warned the Chelsea fans on the type of player Juve's current No. 25 is.

Whilst at PSG together, Rabiot's form constantly fluctuated and his inability to stay consistent throughout a league campaign meant that the German was always open to selling the player in question. That itself makes worrying reading for Chelsea fans who craves consistency in the centre of the park, something that has been missing with most of their midfielders in 2021/22, with the exception of Mateo Kovacic.

"In my opinion, Adrien lost some confidence and his place because also Julian Draxler took his chance. The team played well, we won," Tuchel said back in 2018 when explaining why he dropped the Frenchman ahead of the 2019 January transfer window.

"It is difficult and that's why every game is important. Every player needs to perform at every game, every training session. They need to show that they are ready to win."
