REFORM MSP Thomas Kerr has been slammed for "cosying up" with a far-right group that recently took to Facebook to glorify Nazism.
Kerr has been criticised after a picture surfaced, showing him meeting with Unite The Clans (UTC) on September 12, when members appeared at The Pink Ladies rally.
Just this week, UTC posted about the benefits of 'National Socialism', the totalitarian, racist political movement led by Adolf Hitler that ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945.
In a rant on Facebook, which has since been deleted, the page wrote: "National Socialism was not a monster - it was a solution.
EXPOSED: Unite The Clans Scotland is openly promoting Nazism. They call National Socialism “the greatest idea for national renewal that ever existed” and declare: “That is National Socialism. "A solution to the very same problems that are destroying us today: a nation crushed under impossible debt owed to foreign bankers, a government that served corporations instead of its people, a culture being erased by mass migration.
"A working class abandoned by both left and right, a world torn between the greed of capitalism and the slavery of communism. National Socialism solved all of it."
The post also claimed the Nazis combined "the noble heart of socialism" with "the noble soul of nationalism".
Pete Wishart, SNP MP for Perthshire and Kinross-shire, condemned the group's post and Kerr's meeting of them.
To The National, he said: "These gangs are determined to cause division and hate in Scotland, so it's absolutely no surprise to see Thomas Kerr hanging about with them.
"Politicians cosying up to far-right hate groups should have a look at themselves in the mirror - Scotland is a welcoming nation, and groups like these are a dangerous embarrassment."

The Greens also spoke out on the UTC post, with Maggie Chapman, MSP for North East Scotland, saying: “Unite the Clans represents the most vile and hateful politics. It is an openly racist and extremist group that feeds on intimidation and fear. It seeks to divide communities. Its members are not even trying to hide it anymore.
“The fascist street movements we see today have been whipped up and encouraged by politicians in parties like Reform and Restore Britain, and encouraged by some sections of our media. They represent everything the Scottish Greens stand against: a politics of division rather than solidarity, of fear rather than hope."
Chapman has previously called for the proscription of the group as a terrorist organisation and renewed her calls following the post.
She added: “When Unite the Clans descended on Glasgow, we saw violence and disorder on our streets, alongside the targeting and intimidation of people of colour and other minorities. That cannot simply be dismissed as a fringe phenomenon, or as a localised issue that does not warrant strong action.
“We must have a serious and robust political response. We should be absolutely clear that racism and organised intimidation have no place in our communities.
“I have seen Unite the Clans up close. They are not protecting anyone, least of all women and girls. They are promoting fascist hate and glorifying racism, just like what happened in Europe 100 years ago. We cannot wait until something terrible happens to act. We must act: Proscribe UTC and get the fascists off our streets."
