Tottenham have been dealt an injury blow after Destiny Udogie was ruled out until January with a hamstring problem.

Udogie sustained the problem in last week’s 2-2 draw at Newcastle and missed Saturday’s 2-0 win over Brentford.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Slavia Prague, Spurs head coach Thomas Frank said: "Destiny picked up a hamstring injury... he is out until January unfortunately.”

Udogie’s absence will put more strain on full-backs Djed Spence and Pedro Porro over the busy festive period.

After facing Slavia Prague on Tuesday, Spurs travel to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday and then host Liverpool before Christmas.

Spurs play Crystal Palace away on December 28 and then travel to Brentford on January 1.

In better news, Spurs have been boosted by the fitness of Randal Kolo Muani after he was seen limping out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the Brentford win.

But Frank has confirmed Brennan Johnson is “touch and go” to face Slavia Prague after missing training on Monday.

Franks says James Maddison is still a long way away from making his comeback, despite the midfielder being seen training on Monday.

"It's very early stages, still a long term injury,” said Frank. “Good to see him out there, but no specific time frame - a long time until he is available.”
