This Triumph Scrambler Is Perhaps The Coolest-Looking Bugout Motorcycle Around

It feels like each and every day, we get closer to some apocalyptic world. A world dominated by roving gangs of heathens and wildmen. Mad Max, A Quiet Place, War of the Worlds, or Idiocracy. A world where laws are nonexistent, and you're just gonna have to survive within the utter chaos that has ensued.

That, my friends, is a world where motorcycles dominate. Where dirt bikes and off-roaders, things that can go anywhere, do anything, and not be encumbered by rough roads, abandoned cars, downed trees and power lines, or any other physical impediment aims to put you into a choke point.

And LCR Original's new Packshot Escape, a motorcycle designed seemingly to get you through just about anything that upended world order can throw at you. Am I now yearning for our own Fall of the Roman Empire?

Maybe, but only if I can have this motorcycle and my AR strapped to my back.

The build is based on Triumph's Scrambler 400XC platform, which is already a pretty capable little machine. And while many will point out that some would want more power, more power equals more gas guzzling. In an apocalypse situation, you want fuel-sipping engines so you're not stuck by the side of the road, praying there's gas in someone's leftover tank while an army of the undead shuffles ever closer to you.

"With the Triumph Escape, FCR Original delivers a bold and contemporary interpretation of the Scrambler 400XC, designed to go beyond the beaten path," says LCR Originals, adding, "Inspired by rally-raid machines and modern off-road builds, this project embodies a functional and graphic vision of the adventure motorcycle. The approach is no longer just about enhancing an existing base, but about redefining its purpose: to explore, to ride, to escape."

That last bit is the important piece, as the design, execution, and customization were all done toward being able to GTFO when the end times come. Those modifications include: new headlight surround, light itself, headlight guard, and indicators. There's also a radiator grille, skid plate, chain guard, off-road Continental tires, and upgraded suspension. The exhaust was replaced with a high-mount unit, too, so if you're going through a river to escape and evade, you aren't flooding anything.

FCR Originals also added a rear luggage rack, integrated soft luggage, new seat, and a custom paint scheme throughout that is pretty darn menacing, if I do say so myself. The result of everything, however, begs to be ridden, ridden hard, and ridden through a burning wasteland—ghouls and deathclaws, not necessary.

The unfortunate part of the Packshot Escape is that it seems to be a one-off, and you and I can't buy it. However, given how many parts are from LCR Originals themselves, you could theoretically get pretty darn close if you start throwing parts into your cart. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to load up a couple mags, grab my hunting pack, and prepare for the end of the world.
