This Morning's Phillip Schofield leaves the UK ahead of New Year

Phillip Schofield has waved goodbye to the UK as he welcomes in 2023.

The This Morning presenter took to Instagram to let his 2.9m followers know where he was bringing in the new year. Posing with a huge grin on his face he stood in front of some boats with colourful houses in the background.

He tagged himself at Nyhaven New Harbour in Copenhagen. Underneath his smiling face, he added the text: "I seem to find myself in Denmark."

The 60-year-old also shared a short clip as he panned the camera across the view in front of him. He showed a peaceful looking scene with soft lights highlighting the many different coloured buildings.

Phil jetted off to Denmark for New Year (Instagram)

Phil and his co-star Holly Willoughby often take a lengthy break from their hosting duties on This Morning during the Christmas break. In previous years the show has been taken off air.

However, this year, the show has still been scheduled with pre-recorded episodes meaning that fans of the daytime talk show didn't miss out on their Holly and Phil fix. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary also featured in different segments.
