This Morning's Holly Willoughby 'rejects' offer to do Strictly as host put on spot

Holly Willoughby shut down speculation that she'll ever do Strictly Come Dancing as she 'rejected' an offer from Motsi Mabuse to be a contestant on the show.

With just over a week to go until the new series of Strictly starts on the BBC, judge Motsi joined Holly and her co-host Phillip Schofield in the This Morning studio to talk about the programme, her new autobiography Finding My Own Rhythm and her relationship with sister Oti, who quit her role as a Strictly pro earlier this year.

Oti jumped ship to ITV to join presenter Holly on Dancing on Ice, with Oti sitting on the judging panel of the primetime show alongside Ashley Banjo and skating legends Torvill and Dean. And Motsi tried to tempt Holly to go in the opposite direction to take a spin in the Strictly ballroom.

At the end of Motsi's interview, Holly shared her excitement at the show being back for another run, as it approaches its 20th anniversary, telling her guest: "We'll see you on Strictly," before Motsi cheekily shot back: "I'll see you on the dancefloor?"

As Phillip, sitting beside her, looked animated at the mere suggestion of Holly doing Strictly, she remarked: "Maybe not," but, not giving up the ghost, Motsi replied: "We've started the conversation girl."

Continuing to protest, Holly told her: "No! You've seen me in here," as Motsi responded: "I want to see it, the cha cha cha," as, standing strong, Holly added: "You might have to wait a very long time."

Egging Motsi on, Phillip commented: "I want to see that. Seriously, I want to see that."

While Holly is definitely not doing Strictly Come Dancing this year, plenty of well known faces are, including former Arsenal defender Tony Adams, singer and actress Kym Marsh and pop legend Matt Goss. The bookies' early favourite, before we've even seen the contestants dance for the first time, is X Factor finalist turned radio presenter Fleur East.
