Alison Hammond inadvertently sparked a call to action from This Morning viewers after thanking stand-in host Craig Doyle via a post on Instagram.
There was an unexpected hosting shake-up on the I TV daytime show on Bank Holiday Monday when former Disney Club, Tomorrow's World and Holiday host Craig appeared on screen alongside ex Big Brother star Alison, with fans fully expecting to see Alison in action with her usual co-host Dermot O'Leary. But, while blindsided by him being a This Morning presenter, it didn't take long for viewers to be won over by Irish star Craig and, after they flooded social media with praise for him, Alison further fuelled the positive reaction to Craig by sharing a photo of them together on Instagram.
Next to the picture of them smiling, Alison wrote: "Well that was fun @craigadoyle Thanks for stepping in babs , loved it , your a natural." But, while she was simply thanking Craig, plenty of her followers used her statement as an opportunity to demand that Craig is on This Morning more often. One replied: "Loved Craig ! You are a natural. And you are so funny with lots of energy . Please can you be on again."

Echoing those sentiments, another replied: "It was really good fun.. thought Craig had done it before for some reason, sure he'll be back," and a third commented: "You two together? Real chemistry. Votes for both of you to become regulars together!"
Another thing that got This Morning viewers talking was Craig's age, with those who tuned in on Monday in a state of disbelief that he is 51! Taking to Twitter after doing a bit of digging on how old he is, one posted: "So I googled Craig. That man is never 51! Another reacted: ‘Idk who this fella is but Google tells me he’s 51! Gonna need your skincare regime please Mr Doyle #ThisMorning’"
Craig's This Morning appearance brought another hosting shake-up on This Morning after a string of different partnerships have been at the helm in recent months. Due to Covid and holidays, a whole host of different presenters have had a turn as main host, in various different partnerships, including Rochelle Humes, V ernon Kay and Josie Gibson.
And at the end of Vernon and Josie's stint in charge of the show, many fans were calling on them to be made full time presenters, or at the very least the permanent holiday cover for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
