This Morning was brutally trolled by Twitter accounts going by the name 'Tower Block Tracey' as they wrote into Dear Deirdre.
It comes after viewers vowed they would never watch the daytime show again after an MP accused ITV bosses of referring to their daytime audience as 'Tower Block Tracys'.
SNP's John Nicholson claimed the term was used in staff meetings to describe its audience who wouldn't like 'highbrow' content.
Yet ITV chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall and managing director Kevin Lygo both told the parliamentary committee they'd 'never heard' the phrase.
Since the comments, This Morning has been flooded with trolls using the term as their social media username.
On Friday's episode, the accounts flooded the This Morning hashtag and Twitter feed.
One viewer poked fun at the situation and wrote a note to resident agony aunt Deidre.
They said: "Dear Deidre #itvthismorning I’ve just found out that I’m being called #TowerBlockTracey behind my back.
"I thought they were my family, my friends. We spend most mornings together sharing silly things & laughing together. I feel so low. I don’t know what to do. Betrayed of Brixton."
Another wrote: "Dear Deidre, my name is Tracey , I live in a tower block & have been bullied & belittled by executives on This Morning."
One account with the user name Tower Block Tracey made reference to the 'highbrow' content remark and added: "Never listened to a podcast, sounds a bit middle class to me."
Someone else quipped: "So, what have #ThisMorning got for us Tower Block Traceys?," whilst at the start of the show another remarked: "Tower Block Tracey's assemble!!!"
During the two-hour parliamentary committee on Wednesday, ITV faced a grilling over its 'toxic' culture.
Mr Nicholson asked: "If an idea is regarded as too highbrow, I'm told people say, 'would that really appeal to the Tower Block Tracys?' It's a horrible thing to say."
Dame Carolyn replied: "It's not what ITV would look at as a target audience, we wouldn't describe our target audience in that way.
"I do know one thing, which is that the daytime team on every show really cares about the audience, so that surprises me."
Viewers were left unimpressed with the term as one said: "Can’t believe #Carolynmccall called the viewers of @itv “tower block Tracey’s”. Who does she think she is to belittle viewers like this. She shouldn’t bite the hands which feeds her."
Another added: "The sheer level of class snobbery revealed through the course of the ITV investigation has really concerned me. But hearing that communities have been referred to as 'tower block Traceys' is just unbelievably despicable. Thank you @MrJohnNicolson for holding ITV to account."
''Tower Block Traceys' really??? I'll never watch another episode of This Morning. What an absolutely disgusting way to refer to the viewers at home! In fact, the whole show should just be scrapped! It's well past its sell-by-date anyway, as are the producers!!," someone else quipped.
The chief executive of ITV faced questions about the broadcaster’s approach to safeguarding and complaint-handling after Phillip Schofield left as host of This Morning before subsequently parted ways with ITV and his talent agency YMU.
