The Denver Broncos were absolutely embarrassed by the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, losing 70-20 in an ugly game.
Despite the blowout, Broncos coach Sean Payton had an uneventful handshake with Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel after the game. Payton did not appear to show any animosity toward the coach who just dominated his team.

Terron Armstead, one of their captains, was one of our captains [with the Saints]. I’m close to [Armstead]. Offensive Coordinator Frank Smith I hired into the NFL. There are a number of guys [I know on the staff]. There are a lot of ties.”
Miami had an opportunity to kick a field goal late against the Broncos to make it 73-20, which would have broken the NFL’s regular-season record for the most points scored by one team. McDaniel opted not to go for the record.
It was a respectful decision from McDaniel. Denver was embarrassed, but the Dolphins could have piled on and McDaniel chose not to. Payton will obviously want some on-field revenge the next time the Broncos face Miami, but McDaniel clearly has his off-field respect.
