A HEROIN addict who used a syringe filled with red liquid to hold up Donut King at Charlestown Square, telling the lone staff member "this has AIDS in it", has been jailed for a maximum of three years.
Brendan Nelson, now 38, was desperate for cash and resigned to the inevitability that he would be quickly identified and arrested when he walked into the popular shopping centre about 7.40am on July 9 last year and, in full view of security cameras, held up the doughnut store.
