If you haven’t already heard of Choose Love then it’s a charity that should be on your radar.
Dedicated to supporting refugees and displaced individuals globally, since its launch in 2015, it has rescued more than 20,000 people at sea, funded close to 200,000 medical consultations, supported over 130,000 legal cases, and constructed almost 60,000 shelters. Pretty epic really.
You’ve probably seen the Choose Love t-shirts around, sported by everyone from Julia Roberts, to Benedict Cumberbatch, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Laura Whitmore, Dame Judi Dench, Melissa Hemsley and Paloma Faith … just to name a few.
But, now you can get your hands on a Choose Love jumper - with all proceeds going directly to the charity.
The charity has teamed up with clothing brand Joanie to launch the new long-sleeve knit, which is available in black and brown with the classic, retro slogan print across the front and retailing for £50.
Choose Love co-founder, Dawn O’Porter - who is also an author and presenter - has previously teamed up with Joanie to collaborate on a vintage-inspired collection for the brand, and has now worked with them again launching the charity’s new jumper.
“I’ve been working with Joanie for a year now and it’s just wonderful to have two of the projects I am most passionate about collide,” she said. “The jumper is such a cute piece, made using a more sustainable fabric, and will raise money for a very important cause.”
The crew neck jumper is made from 100 per cent cotton, and features ribbed cuffs and hem detailing.
“This year, Joanie’s focus is on doing better,” Lucy Gledhill, Brand Director at Joanie says. “We want to not only create better clothing but also become a better company. By teaming up with Choose Love, we have chosen to love more and make a difference. Our collaboration with Choose Love will see a minimum of £50,000 donated through Aphrodite Jumper sales in 2023, supporting the fantastic work carried out by the charity”.
The Aphrodite Jumper is named after the ancient Greek goddess of love, and is available in size S to XL. A feel-good jumper in every sense of the word.
