Thirteen left injured after floor at Hackney Wick pub in London collapses

The video was taken moments after the floor above collapsed.

Eyewitnesses have described hearing a loud noise and seeing the "whole ceiling coming down" after a mezzanine floor in a London pub collapsed, injuring 13 people.

The floor at the Two More Years pub in Hackney Wick in east London collapsed on Saturday afternoon (local time).

"A pretty traumatic Saturday pint. We were sat right underneath the mezzanine at Two More Years, Hackney Wick as it came down. It was terrifying, can't quite believe we aren't dead," said an eyewitness who posted a video of the accident on Twitter.

Three people were seriously injured and other 10 suffered minor injuries, the BBC said.

The pub was much busier than usual, and at about 4:30pm a "huge crowd of football fans arrived and there was a line out the door with most people going upstairs," the eyewitness told Reuters.

"We just heard a loud noise and I saw my boyfriend grab our dog and dive to the side and I looked up and the whole ceiling was coming down and we all jumped off the table but a couple of us were under the chipboard," the eyewitness said.

"It was horrible seeing people piled up on top of the tables and each other."

The pub released a statement on Instagram saying it would remain closed and reservations would be cancelled.

"Thankfully no-one has sustained any critical injuries," the statement said.

"Our thoughts are with everyone that has been affected."
