Liverpool made it five wins from as many games with a 1-0 victory over Fulham on Wednesday night.
Mohamed Salah's first-half penalty, won by Darwin Nunez, was enough for the Reds to close the gap on Manchester United to four points in the race for the Champions League places.
But you knew all of that, of course. What you might have slipped by you however were a series of intriguing subplots on the night at Anfield. Here, the ECHO rounds up the moments you may have missed.
RATINGS: Liverpool player ratings as Trent Alexander-Arnold and three excellent vs Fulham
TALKING POINT: Darwin Nunez has just summed up his Liverpool career in one moment
Thiago back on the pitch...briefly
Having had his season ended by the need to undergo surgery on a hip problem, seeing Thiago Alcantara on the Anfield turf on Wednesday night was probably one of the last things supporters expected to see.
But the midfielder was on the pitch, if only briefly, as he played a game of passing and keep-ball with his little boy alongside goalkeeping coach Claudio Taffarel.
Thiago seemed in good spirits as he knocked the ball back and forth with the youngster, who is clearly a chip off the old block. He will no doubt be aiming to follow in the family footsteps given his father, uncle (Rafinha) grandad (Mazinho) have all played at the top level.
And it might have even been a moment to savour for Taffarel too as he kicked the ball about with the grandson of his former Brazil colleague and fellow World Cup winner Mazinho. It was, quite literally, men against boys.
That, though, is likely to be Thiago's last action at Anfield this season as he gets set to go under the knife ahead of the new season.
Coronation quips
Ahead of the weekend's round of Premier League games, the division has asked all clubs to play the national anthem before their fixtures given it is the official date of the King's Coronation on Saturday.
Liverpool supporters have always endured an uneasy relationship with the concept of the Monarchy on the whole, however, and they made their feelings known in no uncertain circumstances during the first half at Anfield.
"You can stick your coronation up your a***!" they sang on the Kop in what must surely be a first outing on the terraces for that particular song. Point made.
It will be interesting to see how Liverpool navigate a potentially tricky situation this weekend but Reds fans have already nailed their colours to the mast ahead of Saturday's game at home to Brentford.
Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk fume
It was one of those moments where wires get crossed and a promising move breaks down and when Darwin Nunez made the wrong run for Trent Alexander-Arnold's flicked pass inside in the second half, the No.66 was left furious.
Clearly unhappy at what he perceived to be the wrong run from his team-mate, Alexander-Arnold shook his fist and punched the air in anger as the chance broke down and Fulham came away with the ball.
Having laid on six assists in his last five games, the No.66 was clearly eager to add to that tally but his clever ball into the penalty area wasn't read by Nunez properly, leading to Alexander-Arnold to let out his frustrations in front of the Kop.
Nunez is still understood to be getting to grips with English but he would have no doubt have been aware of the general gist of Alexander-Arnold's point given the reaction to how the attack fizzled out.
Earlier in the game, in that same penalty area, Virgil van Dijk was quick to reserve a tongue lashing for both Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas too after Fulham's Carlos Vinicius had forced Alisson Becker into a decent stop.
Van Dijk put pressure on the striker before the effort to make it more difficult but the Netherlands captain was clearly unhappy with the way the chance opened up for the visitors due to Tsimikas and Konate not pushing up and closing the gap so the pass couldn't be played.
Van Dijk, who enjoyed an excellent game on the night, made sure both defenders were told that they needed to do better.
Klopp smothers Elliott
As Liverpool were attempting to keep the ball as far away from their goal as possible in the final throes, a mistake from Jordan Henderson handed possession back to Fulham.
Thinking Harvey Elliott was directly behind him, his rolled back heel was quickly snaffled by Fulham who tried to break near the halfway line through Manor Solomon.
Instead, Elliott launched himself into a tackle to concede only a harmless throw in near the touchline, which left Klopp indebted to the youngster.
Before Fulham could take the throw, the Reds manager smothered Elliott with a quick hug, and a pat on the back for his efforts. Klopp was clearly delighted with the contribution of his second-half substitute.
