These are the four artists competing for the 2026 Turner Prize as exhibition opens in Middlesbrough

Four artists have been shortlisted for this year’s Turner Prize: Marguerite Humeau, Kira Freije, Tanoa Sasraku and Simeon Barclay.

Their work is now on display at the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA) in northern England, with works exploring everything from animals and survival to memory, society and personal experience.
