Though Santa’s trusty elves work hard, Jeff Bezos‘ thousands of tireless Amazon employees work harder (under better conditions) to deliver you the gifts you need for Christmas. However, there are cut-off dates for when you need to order your Amazon deliveries.
The Christmas period always feels like one of the busiest of the year, with an endless amount of work Christmas parties, Friendmas events, and family celebrations to pack into your limited schedule.
Add to that that you’ve been obliged by societal expectations to buy gifts for loved ones at these events, and suddenly you’ve got a recipe for one of the most stressful months of the year. Don’t even get me started on figuring out what gifts to buy the people I know nothing about.
Thankfully we don’t live in the Stone Age anymore, and if you can’t make it to the shops there is a way for you to avoid turning up to Christmas lunch empty-handed.
As the classic saying goes: the early bird gets the worm, but the late bird can have a worm delivered with same-day shipping on Amazon.
If you aren’t sure what to buy, we’ve got an ultimate Christmas gifting guide here! If you aren’t sure when to buy, read on.
So if you’re caught up in the end-of-year rush and already know you’ll be buying gifts for everyone online, here are the last possible days you can order from Amazon and AusPost to have your goodies arrive at your door in time for December 25.
When is the cut-off date for Amazon Christmas deliveries?
Amazon Australia announced its final warning on the delivery cut-off dates for festive season orders, declaring good news for last-minute shoppers.
For everyday Aussies who aren’t subscribed to Amazon Prime, the final day to make an order is Friday, December 20.
However, for members of Amazon Prime, paying their fees has granted them two extra days, as they can order goodies on Sunday, December 22, and still have them arrive in time for Christmas.
When is the cut-off date for AusPost Christmas deliveries?
As for people who aren’t using Amazon for their every need, Australia Post has also shared the last possible day to order something online in time for Christmas.
First off, you need to check whatever online store you are using to see what its Christmas operation schedule is! Unlike Amazon, which is one company overseeing dispatch and delivery, AusPost is used by everyone in Australia and their dog to order and deliver goodies.
Should your chosen online store still be operating daily up until the last days of the holiday period, according to AusPost there are two final dates you can make your order:
Standard Delivery: Friday, December 20.
Express Post: Monday, December 23.
As for what dates you can send gifts to your distant loved ones and situationships alike, that’s a much more complicated story. To find out more about when the 2024 Christmas postal deadlines are, read here!
Now that you know the last possible dates, jot them down in your calendar, and remember them at the last possible second — I know that’s what I’ll be doing.
In the meantime, we hope and pray that knowing these deadlines gives you one less thing to stress about over the holiday season! Now on to being worried about the Christmas Day weather…
